Some times I can’t believe that I’m about to complete my Junior year of college.

I know that 13-16 year-old me wouldn’t have believed it. But, it happened.

It doesn’t seem like a ton to have accomplished compared to those living around me, but when I take a step back, I’ve come a long way, academically and personally. My teenage self would have scoffed and rolled her eyes if someone had told her she was going to design and run experimental psychological research and submit an experimental paper detailing it. She would’ve never believed it. But, it happened.

It’s amazing to me how much a person can change and heal.

Only 7 years ago, I was depressed to a point where I wanted to take my own life. I was broken down to nothing and I felt like nothing.

Only 5 years ago, my trust was shattered in a horrific way. To be honest, I’m still healing from that one. Scars will forever be there.

But I’m not afraid of going ahead with life any more.

I’ve learned how to love people without restriction and forgive those who took everything from me without care or concern.

I’ve learned that my life has meaning, a wonderful purpose. A powerful purpose. One that transcends fate, chance, or luck of the draw.

God performs miracles right before our very eyes. We just have to open our eyes to see them.

7 years out and I’m still growing.

Love is the movement.
